How and when should I make my AVA appointments?
Spa reservations may be made by calling AVA directly at 408-997-1803. We encourage you to schedule your spa services well in advance of your visit to ensure the widest selection of treatments and appointment times.
What is the spa's cancellation policy?
We respectfully ask that you give the spa at least 24 hours notice if you must cancel an appointment. The full service(s) cost will be charged for any late cancellation or no show appointments.
Do you sell gift certificates?
Yes! We do! You can purchase a gift certificate in any amount. We will also gift wrap the gift certificate for you.
What time should I arrive for my spa service(s)?
We ask that you arrive at least 10-15 minutes prior to the start time of your first scheduled service. This allows you time to check in at the desk, and complete a Health History Questionnaire. We also recommend that you shower before any massage or body service, as a warm shower helps relax the muscles, making them more receptive to touch.
What if I'm late?
Arriving late will limit the time for your treatment, lessening its effectiveness and your pleasure. Your treatment will end on time so that the next guest is not inconvenienced, and the full treatment price will apply.
What should I bring to AVA?
Because we cannot be responsible for lost or damaged items, we request that you do not bring any valuables to the spa. For your convenience, a small vessel for you to place jewelry in can be found in each treatment room.
What should I wear during my massage?
Before your service, your therapist will take you to your private treatment room and explain how the service will begin. He or she will then leave the room to allow you time to get comfortable under a towel or sheet. During your service, you will be professionally draped at all times - the therapist will only uncover the body part he or she is working on at the time. After the service, your therapist will leave the room again to allow you privacy to get dressed. So, you don't need to wear anything during your service. Some guests are more comfortable leaving their undergarments on or wear a bathing suit during massage services, and this is acceptable as well.
What are AVA's hours?
Tues.- Fri. 10am-6pm and Sat 10am-4pm
However, for your convenience, off-hour appointments are available.
Can I bring my children to the spa?
Almaden Valley Aesthetics is an adult spa and we respectfully request that guests do not bring their children to services with them.
Can I use my cell phone in the spa?
In order to preserve the relaxing environment of the spa, we do ask that you turn off your cell phone, e-mail and other electronic devices while visiting AVA.
Should I shave before my services?
With an exception to Laser Hair Removal, shaving is considered a personal decision.
We recommend allowing several hours between shaving and receiving any service that involves an exfoliation to decrease the risk of skin irritation or discomfort.
What are my responsibilities as a guest?
Please advise our staff of any special requests, sensitivities or allergies, if you are nursing, breast-feeding, or taking any medications. This information will be requested of you in the Health History Form you will fill out before your service. We also appreciate you sharing any pertinent information when you call to make your spa appointments. We will use this information to keep you comfortable and safe throughout your spa experience. Please notify us of any discomfort or preferences regarding room temperature, music volume, or massage pressure during your spa experience.
Can I take my spa experience home with me?
Sure. Many of the products used during your treatment are sold in the reception area.
What should I expect during my massage? Will I be covered?
You will be modestly draped with towels and sheets throughout your massage. However, if you feel more comfortable keeping minimal under garments on, that's fine. We want you to relax.
Is there someone to help me decide which treatments are best for me?
Yes. A Spa Coordinator can help you plan a program to suit your needs and interests. Please make appointments well in advance of your visit to ensure availability.
Can the spa accommodate group bookings?
Definitely! We do offer bookings for Botox Parties. With ten or more people you will receive reduced pricing. Please call to reserve your time.
Can I ask my therapist to make adjustments for my comfort?
Absolutely. Your feedback is essential in providing you with the best service possible. After all, this is your treatment. Communicate with the staff regarding room temperature, pressure, technique, etc. We value your feedback.
What if I have allergies or other health concerns?
Any information provided to our staff is held in the strictest of confidence. In order for your spa experience to be most pleasurable, we encourage you to inform us of any pertinent information regarding your health.
Are there any health benefits to visiting the spa?
Absolutely! The most obvious are the benefits derived from relaxation. Many of the services have therapeutic benefits, all of which are intended to help your body restore its natural balance.

How long does my hair need to be for waxing to be most effective?
In order for waxing to be most effective hair length should be 1/8 to 1/4 inches long depending on the thickness of the hair.
What if I have special medical conditions?
We recommend that you check with your physician before visiting AVA. Please notify AVA of any special needs or concerns when you book your services. Your therapist will also briefly review your health history with you before beginning your service. If he or she believes that the service you are scheduled for is unsafe for you based on any information given, he or she may recommend canceling the service, booking another service instead, or modifying the service to make it safe for you. As we are most interested in your safety and comfort, AVA reserves the right to refuse service to any guest at any time.
Where is the spa and where should I park?
The spa is located at 5965 Almaden Expwy Suite#140. We are on the corner of Almaden Expwy and McAbee and in the same plaza as the Sonoma Chicken Coop. There is plenty of parking available.
